What’s Different with the Biodegradable Hoof Block?

The Biodegradable Hoof Blocks are made from American made, plant based material that will break down over time without leaving plastic particles behind. The Pigment used in our Biodegradable Hoof Blocks are also biodegradable. These Hoof Blocks are manure pump friendly and will break down upon impact instead of jamming the impeller.

These Hoof Blocks will provide 3-4 weeks of wear*, they last longer than wood blocks but not as long as our Standard (Urethane) Material block. They can be left to wear off or removed.

The Biodegradable Hoof Blocks are available in 3 sizes (see below for detail): Small (cream), Large (black), & Extra-Large (Blue)

*Wear time is dependent on footing and population of barn

What is the Same with the Biodegradable Hoof Block?

The Honeycomb pattern on Bohning Blocks create an ultra-strong bond with the glue, keeping it out of manure pumps and preventing glue waste.

Our manufacturing process leaves no oily residue, so you don’t have to waste tie burning it off before application. There is no need to apply heat/flame to any Bohning Block, you may do so if this is your preference as it will not negatively affect durability or adhesion.

All Bohning Block hoof blocks are made in the USA. We produce the blocks at our factor in northern Michigan, so we can keep quality high, lead times low, and supply constant.

They can be used on both claws as the hoof block is bidirectional.

We have incorporated a hanging hole so you can hang them on a peg or lanyard.
